Lawyer's Notarial Services

If you require a document to be commissioned or notarized and it is intended to be used out of the province of Alberta, then you will need a notary to affix their seal to your document. Our lawyers charge flat fees for notarial services as follows:

Basic Service

$75

If you need a document witnessed or signed by a notary, or a true copy of a single page document made, that would be covered by our basic service.

Notarial Certificate

$125

If you require a notarial certificate to accompany a document, our lawyers can help you.

Guarantor's/Indemnitor's Certificate

$300

If you are guaranteeing a loan or lease, you will be required to seek a lawyer who will certify that they have explained your obligations under the guarantee and witnessed your signature to that guarantee.

Notarized Invitation Letter

$150

If you would like to invite a foreign citizen to stay with you, our lawyers can help you write a letter to the Government of Canada indicating your intent.

Notarial Service Secondary to Legal Advice

Hourly/Flat Rates

If you require legal advice and need something notarized that goes along with the advice, you will be subject to hourly charges or fees at the rate of the serving lawyer only and all notarial charges are subsumed in the lawyer's hourly rate.

Commissioner's Services

If your document must be witnessed by a commissioner or is only to be used within the province of Alberta and does not require a notarial seal, our commissioner's can help.

Basic Service

$30

Completing an affidavit or statutory declaration in front of a commissioner who will take a copy of your ID and document.

Maintenance Enforcement Program Application

$85

If you would like to apply for maintenance enforcement in Alberta, you can see our commissioners for help putting together that package and swearing the affidavits necessary for that application.

All signatures must be made on the original document in front of the notary or commissioner. we will ask you for one or more pieces of government issued identification at or before completing any documents.
